Writer's picture: Taverna Cocktail BarTaverna Cocktail Bar

A match made in heaven - and it also happens to be a new cocktail on our menu! Tart, refreshing, and effortlessly delicious, the Purple Empress is an elevated take on a classic favorite. Here is your chance to make it at home!

Ingredients

2 oz Empress Gin

5 oz Lemonade

1/2 oz Passionfruit Puree

1/4 Housemade Lavender Simple Syrup (see recipe below)

1/2 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice

Purple Beet & Lavender (or anything you have on hand) for Garnish

In a collins glass, add your ice cubes. Add all your ingredients in the order they appear above, one by one. You can prevent them mixing together by pouring ingredients on the back side of a spoon.

Lavender Simple Syrup

1 cup white sugar

1 cup water

1 tbls fresh lavender blossoms

Combine water, sugar, and lavender blossoms in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let syrup steep, about 30 minutes. Can be used in beverages (hello lavender lemonade!), cocktails, soak in cakes before icing, sorbet, poaching fruit, etc. The possibilities are endless!
